Invited Speaker

Dr. Zainal Z ZAinudin is BORA’s veterinarian and field manager (Borneo Rhino Alliance). He joined the Department of Wildlife and National Parks Malaysia in 1985. He developed his expertise in caring for, breeding and conserving endangered species. He was involved in efforts to prevent the extinction of the Sumatran rhinoceros, focusing on advanced reproductive technologies such as IVF. Despite many challenges, including the death of the last Sumatran rhino in Malaysia, he remained committed to dedicating himself to wildlife conservation. He also contributed to ecosystem restoration, such as establishing the Ficus Germplasm Center in Sabah.
