Prof. Dr. Katsuhiko Hayashi

Katsuhiko Hayashi is a researcher who focuses on stem cell development and is an expert in germline genetics. In 2023, he and his team published an innovative achievement in Nature’s Journal entitled The Successful Generation of Fertile Mouse Pups from the Cells of Two Male Parents. This research is recognized as a significant advance in reproductive science. From this research, the development of Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (IPSC) also has the potential to be used in wildlife conservation efforts and saving species and also genetic material from endangered wildlife that utilizes somatic cells to be converted into gamete cells so that they have the potential to produce new individuals.
