Dr. Jella Wauters

Dr. Jella Wauters is a postdoctoral scientist and head of the wildlife endocrinology laboratory at the Department of Reproductive Biology, Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Leibniz-IZW) in Germany. She got her degree in veterinary medicine at Ghent University Belgium. After obtaining her PhD in 2014, she got involved in giant pandas’ endocrine and reproductive monitoring. Since then, Giant Panda’s reproductive monitoring and related research have been a true passion that she expanded in the following years, complementary to her official assignments. She is passionate about and dedicated to wildlife conservation, specifically endocrine monitoring (immuno-assays) and unraveling physiological pathways through metabolomics (UHPLC-HRMS).
